Inaki Pena to stay at Barcelona until 2026
Inaki Pena has chosen to stay at Barcelona. 'Mundo Deportivo' reported on Tuesday that the Catalan keeper's aim was to continue at the side and extend his contract until the 30th June 2026.
Inaki Pena wants to continue his development at Barcelona. The goalkeeper from Alicante considered leaving the Camp Nou in search of game time, but Xavi will carry on having his second keeper for a long time.
According to 'Mundo Deportivo', the academy graduate goalkeeper will renew until 30th June 2026, which will certainly make Mateu Alemany a happy man as he won't have to strengthen that position.
Inake Pena will stay for three seasons as understudy to Marc-Andre ter Stegen. Xavi's managerial staff are confident in his potential he's shown when the German hasn't started.
So far this season, the number 13 has played 3 games: against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League, and Intercity and Ceuta in the Copa del Rey. Barcelona are soon to tie down their goalkeeper on a long-term deal.
