Once again, as has been the case lately, Antoine Griezmann scored. He scored the first of five goals against Leganes and VAR denied him another. He has been looking comfortable playing centre-forward since Luis Suarez got injured. And he offered to continue helping his team in that way.
After the clash, the French striker made it clear: "If they need me up there, perfect. Or if it's on the left, then on the left. All I want to do is help the team."
"I'm used to playing on the inside lane. I know where to move and I have more freedom, but I'm at the club to help," insisted Griezmann to emphasise the 'comfort' with which he is performing the last few games.
The French international insisted that they are in a learning phase to adapt to Quique Setién's new methods. "We're trying to learn the coach's way of playing, which is different to what we used to do. We want to get the ball rolling. We still have things to improve. We're on the right track," he said.
Griezmann left the Camp Nou as soon as the match was over to go and watch the Euroleague game of the basketball section. He responded to the tribute he paid to Kobe Bryant by arriving at the stadium with his shirt on.
"I'm in shock, but I tried to pay tribute in my own way," he told the press.
