Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice to help Manchester United seal a 2-0 victory over West Brom and move just three points of Man City in fourth place.

The Red Devils won their third game in a row thanks to Ibrahimovic's brace and are now just three points off the Champions League qualification places.

United got off to the best possible start when Ibrahimovic headed in a cross from Jesse Lingard from the right within the first five minutes of the game.

West Brom had a good chance to equalise when Jonas Olsson glanced Chris Brunt's corner wide, but from there, Mourinho's side went on to have the better chances.

Wayne Rooney saw his well struck half volley tipped onto the crossbar by Ben Foster and Jesse Lingard also squandered a good chance late in the first half, blazing his half-volley over the bar when bearning down on goal.

After the restart, United continued to threaten and Ibrahimovic managed to get his second goal. The former PSG man received a short pass from Rooney, before jinking inside and firing past Foster, via a deflection.

This was as good as the second half got for chances, but there was controversy when Marcos Rojo and Salomon Rondon were involved in an altercation. The pair squared up and Rondon appeared to aim a slap at the United defender's face, but both players escaped with yellow cards.

United held on for a comfortable leads and after three wins in a week, things are certainly looking up for the Red Devils after a slow start to the season.
