Real Madrid player Lucas Vazquez spoke to 'Movistar' after Carlo Ancelotti's side lost to Villarreal in La Liga. The Real Madrid man did not give his opinion on the penalty against Madrid because he was warming up on the touchline. However, he admitted that it was a damaging result ahead of Atletico versus Barcelona on Sunday.

Real Madrid lost at La Ceramica against Villarreal on matchday 16 of the La Liga season. Ahead of Atletico versus Barcelona on Sunday, it was a setback for Carlo Ancelotti's men not to get a single point. Lucas Vazquez spoke about this and the rest of the match in a post-game interview with 'Movistar'.

"It was a very open game with opportunities for both teams. In the end, because of fine details, we leave here with nothing. We have to keep working. We struggled to get into the game and, in the first half hour, play the ball out. But, sometimes, these things happen and, now, we have to see the mistakes," he began.

"Alaba's penalty? It seems like he slipped. I was warming up on the touchline, I didn't have a good view of it so let's trust the VAR and the referee. It was a very important game because there is a big game at the top, but for different reasons, it wasn't to be," Vazquez added.

Vazquez was also asked whether an opportunity had been missed ahead of Barcelona's trip to Atletico Madrid: "It was an important match and the fact those two are facing off meant winning was important, but we couldn't get it," he concluded.
