Nico Gonzalez is delighted with the signing of Robert Lewandowski. He said he is a player he has long admired and said he particularly remembers a game in the 2012-13 Champions League when he was still at Borussia Dortmund and scored four goals against Madrid, now their eternal rivals.

Xavi led his side's training for the first time in a session on American soil. Problems with his passport made him travel later than the rest, but he has already got down to work.

After training, Nico Gonzalez spoke to the media. He reviewed the current sporting situation of the 'Cule' team and was especially excited about Robert Lewandowski.

Although he is very young, Nico pointed to a very specific Lewandowski game when he was still playing for Borussia Dortmund. It was the 2012-13 season and the German club faced Madrid in the group stage and then in the Champions League semi-finals.

Lewandowski stole the show in the first leg. The match ended 4-1 and all the goals were scored by him. Nico Gonzalez, although he is still very young, says he was amazed even then.

"I have seen Lewandowski in many games. I remember, for example, one against Madrid scoring four goals.... I celebrated a lot. It's exciting to play with him," he said in statements reported by 'Sport'.

On a different subject, he said that the pre-season so far has been "spectacular". "I didn't expect it to be so good for everyone, to form a group and be united. There have been incredible experiences. Last year I only played two games with Barça B. This year the idea is to fight to get as many minutes as possible," he continued.

For Nico Gonzalez, things are going very well at Barcelona. "You can't deny to anyone that the squad is growing a lot and improving. We are making a leap in quality with the new signings. I'm sure it will translate lead to titles and a better year than last year.
