'I'm not going to lie, I would always prefer it if Barça don't go through'
Dani Carvajal talked about the 'Clasico' and the rivalry with Barcelona in a statement to 'Marca'. He recognized that he always want Barcelona to lose.
The tensions between Barcelona and Real Madrid never stop, even during the international break. Dani Carvajal spoke about it and also gave his opinion of the postponement of the 'Clasico'.
"It was postponed for security reasons, if that decision was taken it's for a reason," said the player. "The new date comes with a demanding schedule. If it's during the week, income decreases, but in the end, security is what's important," he said of the game on Dec. 18.
The Real Madrid player did not hide that he always wants Barcelona to lose: "I'm not going to lie to you, in the end I prefer that Barcelona does not go through, they are a candidate for the Champions League and our biggest rival. We're not going to be fake about this".
Carvajal acknowledged that the Catalan team are their main rival for LaLiga, but that they are also a threat in the Champions League which is why he would prefer them to get eliminated.
"In LaLiga, I prefer it when Barça loses because it is one of our rivals. And in Champions it's more or less the same. They have a spectacular squad and are strong candidates. If the strong teams fail, it's better for us," said the Real Madrid academy product.
