France striker Randal Kolo Muani could have been the hero in the final against Argentina, but Emiliano Martinez prevented him from doing so. Speaking to 'L'Equipe', the French striker expressed his hatred for the Argentine goalkeeper.
Randal Kolo Muani still can't understand how Dibu Martinez denied France victory with that superb save. The France striker spoke to 'L'Equipe' ahead of the start of the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
"That play could have changed my life. I would have preferred to put it on the back burner like everyone else, like all the French, but it happened and these are the vagaries of life," he began.
On whether he saw the end of the game against Argentina again, he said: "I keep watching the play and I see that I have a good chance of scoring, but everything is going too fast on the pitch.
"I want to move on, because it's part of my job. It's not that I'm sad, but I will never forget it. We were very close to bringing home the third World Cup trophy. I'm not going to lie, I hate Martinez," revealed Kolo Muani about the Argentine goalkeeper's historic save.
