Braithwaite is looking forward to taking the field for the first time in Barcelona's pre-season. He did not do so against Stuttgart, either because Ronald Koeman felt it was not the right time or because he is close to the exit ramp. What is certain is that he wants to be against Salzburg. He himself said.
"I arrived later from my holidays. I went back to Barcelona and quickly packed my suitcase to come here to Germany. It's been good to be here for a week to focus and work hard. I'm really looking forward to the game so I can get some minutes. I feel ready and I want to finish this preparation in the best way for the start of the season," he said.
"It will be a good test. They have played in the Champions League the last two years and they are an attacking team who like to press high. It will be a good game for us," he continued. These statements he threw out in a brief interview with the club's official media outlet which he echoed on his social media.
"It's unbelievable. Fans make football special and a lot of players have realised that when they have played without fans. I played with fans at the Euros and it's not the same, it's something special. It's the fans that make football," he said, asked about the return of fans to the stands.
