'I hope we can defend against Lukaku'
Ahead of Everton's visit to Old Trafford, Ronald Koeman has said that his side must improve defensively if they are to contain 'dangerous' Lukaku.
'We know him really well', Koeman said about Romelu Lukaku. 'He's one of the best strikers. I mentioned several times last season he's a great finisher. I hope that we know how we have to defend against him'.
The Belgian international scored 20-plus goals in each of his three seasons with the Toffees before a big-money move to Old Trafford, and the Dutch manager insisted Everton will have to tighten up at the back to deal with the threat of the in-form striker.
'There are a lot of individual qualities in the players around him [at United]. In the box he's really dangerous, he's fast, he's strong', the Everton manager added.
He concluded by firing a warning for his players: 'If we defend how we've defended in the last few games then maybe it will be his afternoon'.
