Jürgen Klopp has thrown in the towel. After the 3-1 defeat to Leicester, the German said "yes" when he was asked if Liverpool had now lost the Premier League. He also lamented the mistakes that cost them the match, criticised Alisson's lack of communication and defended the debutant Ozan Kabak.

Liverpool collapsed against Leicester. They were winning with 15 minutes left and then conceded three goals in six minutes, two of them mistakes from Alisson. A defeat that leaves Liverpool all but out of the title race, something that Jürgen Klopp himself now thinks.

"Jürgen, do you think that you have now lost the title?", he was asked by a journalist. And the German, after some seconds of silence, said: "I cannot believe, but yes. I don’t think we can close the gap this year".

"We dominated Leicester, we scored a great goal but then conceded a strange one, which is offside. The 2-1 is a mistake but it had too big an impact. There was still time to go. We have to show a different reaction. When we conceded the second, in that manner, it was a knock and I didn’t like the reaction after that", Klopp said.

"We all know Ozan is a really good player but he’s not used to all the things that we do and when you play with Alisson, you know he is offensive-minded and comes out of his goal. It was a misunderstanding. It can happen", Klopp added.
