'I don't regret leaving Barca'
Javier Mascherano headed East during the transfer window, joining CSL side Hebei China Fortune, but the Argentine insists that he does not regret his decision to leave Barcelona.
"I thought that adapting would be more difficult, but everything is very professional and with the services that the club offers there is no need to look on in envy at other clubs," Mascherano told 'TyC Sports'.
Hebei's results in Mascherano's early days at the club haven't been the best, but the "Little Boss" is confident of continuing to improve and getting into a rythym ahead of the World Cup.
"I don't regret the decision that I took, I felt like I needed to leave. Also, I want to play as a midfielder and at Barca I had to adapt to a new position in order to fit in with the quality of the other players.," he continued.
With the 33-year-old keen to return to the position where he made his name, he will face serious competition for a place in the 'Albiceleste' World Cup squad, but it is clear that the former West Ham believes in his ability.
