Dani Parejo has denied ahving contact with FC Barcelona over the possibility of signing him to replace Sergio Busquets at the end of the season. He said that he hadn't had any contact with Xavi and that his agents hadn't told him of any interest from the Catalan side either.

Barcelona are waiting for Busquets to make up his mind as to whether he wants to continue at the side for next season. His contract is up on the 30th June and the club are thought to have already put a new deal on the table, but he hasn't answered it yet.

One of the name which has been reported as a possible successor to the veteran midfielder is Dani Parejo. The Villarreal man spoke to 'Carrusel Deportivo'  and made it clear that he's not aware of any interest from the Catalan side.

"Have I spoken to Xavi? I don't have his phone number, nothing", he said. "If there's been any interest, I'm not aware of it. Maybe my agents have received something, but honestly they haven't told me anything at any point", he continued.

For Parejo, they're just rumours: "I understand that, if there's been something, it hasn't been so important they've needed to tell me about it. I've not been made aware of anything".
