The Bayern Munich forward was at his best for Germany against Norway and will pose a threat in his club's Bundesliga game against Schalke on Friday but the defender is not afraid.

Benedikt Howedes doesn't fear his national team-mate and Bundesliga rival Thomas Muller. Howedes' Schalke and Bayern Munich will face each other this Friday.

Muller suffered a goalless period but his streak of bad luck ended in the game against Norway, when he finally netted again. Howedes isn't worried that Muller is getting strong again.

He told 'Bild': "I do not fear Muller. It's not like I am playing against him by myself. But we all know Bayern are the best team in Germany. We have to put in a much better performance than against Eintracht Frankfurt".

Muller warned Howedes by saying: "Benedikt and I have been exchanging plenty of words over the past few days," the forward added. "I can only say that we have big plans for Friday. It will not be easy for him."
