Krzysztof Piatek, somewhat of a revelation in Europe this season, has spoken in Poland about his future, and has expressed disbelief at Barcelona trying to sign him last season: "I heard the rumour, but they already have a top striker."

He is the new sensation of Europe. And, although it is too soon to say for certain, his may be the signature that provokes many a battle in the next transfer window. Krzysztof Piatek, striker of Genoa in Serie A, has spoken about his future. And, more importantly, of Barcelona, who supposedly chased his services last summer.

Both in interviews with Polish media outlet 'Sportowefakty' , and in the microphones of polish radio channel 'DAZN', the forward was shocked, and could not believe the idea that Barcelona wanted to sign after him: "I do not believe it. When the newspapers talk about me what I do is focus on the next training", he shared publicly.

What is certain is that Barcelona definitely have Piatek on their radar. According to 'AS', for the Serie A clash between Genoa and Parma, the Catalan giants sent representatives to monitor the striker.

However, Piatek refused to talk further on the speculation, saying: "After a great performance last season, I was sure that I would be moving elsewhere. I have been in Genoa for more than two and a half months and I am helping the team, but I do not know where I will be in six months."

Piatek is excelling. He has scored 13 goals in nine matches so far this campaign, including the one he notched at the start of the match against Parma, and currently, he is fighting for the Top goalscorer award with none other than Cristiano Ronaldo himself.

Seen as the successor of Lewandowski at Bayern Munich, there is an ever-growing queue of Europe's top clubs looking to claim Krzysztof Piatek as their own.
