Antoine Griezmann spoke, in his first press conference, of his departure from Atletico Madrid. The Frenchman explained that he wanted to do things in the best way possible to leave his old club in a positive light.

The controversy which arose after his departure from Atletico Madrid continues to rumble on. The Frenchman, in Japan with Barcelona, explained his sensations in his first days as a Barcelona player as well as his relationship with his ex-manager.

"I am very happy to be in this club and very keen to start playing. I did it in the best way possible with Cholo (Simeone), my ex-teammates and the club to leave in a positive way. It's their issue, I am relaxed," the French striker stated.

Precisely on Simeone, Griezmann only had good words. "The relationship with Simeone is more than a coach-player relationship, it's a family one. I get on very well with him, just like our wives and children. He is very important on the pitch and in my private life. I owe him loads and I love him loads. Our relationship will continue after I have finished playing football," Griezmann continued.

In addition, on the disciplinary proceedings opened by the Federation after the complaint filed by Atletico Madrid, Griezmann stated he felt "very calm". "I heard about it. It's a club where I gave everything," he added.

Feelings at Barcelona

Griezmann is experiencing his first days as a Barca player and he wanted to explain how he was feeling: "That (the Chelsea game) will be my first game for this club. I am very keen to play with my new colleagues. The first day was a bit difficult because they nutmegged me twice in the kick abouts."

The Frenchman has still not met all of his colleagues and the thing is those who played in the Copa America are still on holiday. The Frenchman revealed that he did not receive a message from Messi, but he did get a message from Suarez to welcome him to the club.

Another player who could arrive is Neymar. The Brazilian is trying to force a move from PSG, something which has not been talked about in the dressing room, according to the French players.

"We have not spoken about Neymar. He is a great player. He has had important injuries, but he has unbelievable quality. In the end, they are things which can happen, but we have Dembele, Coutinho and Malcom, important players for us which we hope are good to help us achieve important things," he explained.

About if he could adapt quickly to Barcelona's style, Griezmann assured that, with respect to Atletico, "they are two different ways of attacking. Quicker at Atletico and here with lots of patience. I am going to adapt, but it is a style of play which I like. I know that I can contribute various things. It is no problem to run back or forward, you already know me," he finalised.
