"I believe I am going to play for Real Madrid, it is my goal"
Former Manchester United winger Memphis Depay believes he has what it takes to fulfil the dream of every professional footballer: Play for Real Madrid.
"I believe I am going to play for Real Madrid. It is my goal. It's up to god, he will help me and he will take me there", the Dutch forward told 'PSV Supporter’.
After impressing at PSV Eindhoven, United paid £25m to secure his services in 2015, but he struggled for game time at Old Trafford and eventually left for Lyon in January.
"I did very good things at PSV, but I wanted to score more goals. I am happy at Lyon, in some ways it is a bit like PSV", he added.
Depay is a regular in the Netherland starting lineup, but he failed to help his national side secure a spot at the World Cup in Russia next summer. Following the heartbreak, his dream is now clear, become a 'Galactico' at Real Madrid.
The 23-year-old, however, will have to improve on his record if he is to even attract interest from the Spanish and European Champions. Depay has a respectable three goals and three assists in nine games this season at Lyon, but is that enough to put him up there with the likes up Ronaldo and Bale?
