'I always said I wanted to play for Barca and that's why they love me so much'
Joao Felix, a Barcelona player on loan from Atletico Madrid, was surprised by the affection he has received from the fans and is looking forward to his first home game.
The international break has prevented Joao Felix from playing under the watchful eye of his new Barcelona fans. The Portuguese has been pleasantly surprised by how well he has been received.
"I'm really looking forward to playing on Montjuic in front of our fans. It's a shame it's not the Camp Nou. We hope to play a good game and take the three points. I'm surprised, I've always said I wanted to play for Barcelona and maybe that's why they love me so much," Joao Felix told 'Sport'.
The Portuguese said he feels "good, with confidence". "Physically too, despite not having had much playing time lately. I'm ready to get to Barcelona and start strong. I want to work to help the team", he added.
Joao Felix has no limits when it comes to global objectives: "The Champions League is a real objective. All the titles we will compete for are an objective, but we are taking it step by step and calmly".
The Portuguese has only played one game, just a few minutes, for Barcelona, but he already knows where he wants to play: "I feel more comfortable starting on the left wing. I've been playing there for some time now and I think that's where Xavi likes to put me.
