Hulk signs for Chinese club Shanghai SIPG

Brazilian football star Hulk has signed for Chinese side Shanghai SIPG after passing a medical, the club said, as the mega wealthy club continues to spend.

A press conference will be held on Friday to announce "the Incredible Hulk" joining the team from Russian side Zenit St Petersburg, a SIPG spokeswoman said in a statement sent to journalists.

Sven Goran Eriksson's side have alledgedly paid around 55 million euros for the Brazilian and would be an Asian record transfer fee, breaking the previous record of 50 million euros for midfielder Alex Teixera. 

Hulk scored 23 goals in all competitions for former club Zenit St Petersburg last season and has 11 goals in 48 appearances for his country. 

The Shanghai club will be hoping that the experienced Brazilian international can lead his new side to Chinese Super League glory.
