The legends match between Tottenham and Inter Milan gave a lot of emotional scenes. One of the most powerful, and which provoked a standing ovation, was the return of Paul Gascoigne to the football pitch. The legend has struggled for years with various addictions.

Gascoigne, a true England and Tottenham great, entered the pitch in the second half, replacing Rafael Van der Vaart. He played for Spurs between 1988 and 1992, with his international fame reaching its peak during his sensational performances in the 1990 World Cup and 1996 Euros.

He has since struggled with severe alocholism, however, with frequent visits to rehab having only a limited effect. His addiction became such that he has even almost died.

But when he came on in the legends match used as a test event for Tottenham's new stadium, he was given a rousing standing ovation from all corners of the ground. And how good it was to see.
