For the umpteenth time, Real Madrid are trying to get Edinson Cavani. 'El Nacional' says that 'Los Blancos' will try and persuade the Uruguayan in January after Cavani has lost importance at United after Cristiano Ronaldo's return.

Real Madrid's interest in Edinson Cavani is not new. For years, the La Liga outfit have been weighing up the signing of the Uruguayan striker, who is still fit despite being 34.

In fact, exactly a year ago, the South American forward was strongly linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, but interest ended up cooling and Cavani completed his first season at Man Utd.

When the 2020-21 campaign was coming to a close, Cavani's name once again appeared on Madrid's radar, but efforts were focussed on Mbappe and, as they were unable to sign the Frenchman, Madrid finally bought Camavinga, who arrived in the Spanish capital at the last minute.

Now, with the next transfer window less than three months away, history has repeated itself. Cavani has been linked once again with 'Los Blancos', Catalan paper 'El Nacional' reports.

Seemingly, Real Madrid could take advantage of his lack of minutes after Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Old Trafford to persuade the Uruguayan to join on loan.
