Hearts are through to the Scottish League Cup Round of 16 after scoring three times in four minutes to dismantle highland rivals Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Striker Uche Ikpeazu bagged a brace as he hammered in the opener, while his header for the third a powerful header.

Former Everton forward Steven Naismith was also on the scoresheet twice, scoring two headers to knock out John Robertson's side.

Ben Garuccio also scored a well-worked set-piece to ensure the victory.

Speaking to 'BT Sport', Hearts manger Craig Levein said, "It looks like a very convincing score line but for long spells in the first half I felt it was a fairly even game.

"We had a lack of strikers last year so the biggest challenge was to try and create competition and bring different strikers in. Today was Uche's day."

Celtic are the current Scottish League Cup champions.
