Ansu Fati underwent surgery on his meniscus and is now beginning his four months of rehabilitation. Bori Fati, his father, spoke to doctors on Tuesday and has released a positive statement regarding his son's health.

He faces a long four months, but Ansu Fati seems to be filled with optimism. That is according to his father, Bori Fati, after his son's operation on Tuesday.

Ansu Fati's father spoke to doctors on Tuesday following the operation. "He's doing very well", said Bori when asked about his son.

"I want to thank everyone who has sent us good wishes", he added, recognising the floods of messages of support and kindness that Ansu has received.

Barcelona have lost Fati for at least the next four months. He tore his meniscus last weekend when he won a penalty for Antione Griezman. His game ended at half-time when he was substituted off.

The injury turned out to be a torn meniscus, and he underwent surgery on Monday. Barcelona wanted to be safe rather than sorry with their young star and opted for invasive surgery, but they will now lose Ansu until February.
