"Having Keylor makes me feels more relaxed"
Thomas Tuchel was full of praise for Keylor Navas, who started his time at PSG in impeccable fashion. The Costa Rican keeper has not beaten in his first three games.
"He has a great mentality, good energy on the pitch. He never loses focus on what is happening in the game. When you have played for several years at Real Madrid, you demand a lot of yourself... Having him here makes me more relaxed," the German coach said in his press conference prior to the home game with Reims.
Thomas Tuchel continued: "He made a good debut against Strasbourg, he pulled off two or three extraordinary saves. Against Real Madrid and Lyon he didn't need to, but it gives everyone a lot of confidence and makes everyone calm all across the pitch."
Just after arriving in Paris, Keylor Navas easily stopped the only three shots that were hit at him in the Strasbourg match. As fate had it, he had to face his old club on matchday one of the Champions League, but Zinedine Zidane's men did not even test the Costa Rican.
He did not have much to do in Lyon, despite being theoretically one of the more complicated grounds to visit in France. This Wednesday, Navas will be hoping his record of not conceding a PSG goal remains intact when his side play Reims.
