Frank Lampard confirmed the worst news at Chelsea on Tuesday. The Blues' interim manager lamented ahead of the Brentford game that Reece James and Mason Mount, who are both out until the end of the season, will at best be able to play "the last game".

Frank Lampard had some bad news. Reece James and Mason Mount have been struggling with injuries all season. Unfortunately for Chelsea, both will be back on the sidelines once again.

The English club's interim manager confirmed the worst-case scenario ahead of Wednesday's Premier League matchday 33 against Brentford. The two players mentioned will miss the remainder of the season.

Frank Lampard explained that Reece James is suffering from a muscle injury, while Mason Mount has a pelvic problem and will have to undergo surgery. Both could be out for up to four weeks, according to the manager.

Another name to watch out for is Kai Havertz. The German striker is in the final stages of his knee recovery, so he is expected to face Thomas Frank's side -5 points clear of the Blues in the standings-.
