Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann, who wore the No. 8 shirt, has taken the No. 7 for next season, the Spanish club announced on social media on Thursday.
The Frenchman had already worn that shirt from 2014 to 2019 when Barcelona paid his buyout clause to sign him. The 32-year-old was a key player for Atletico last season.
Joao Felix was given the No. 7 shirt but his future is uncertain as the Portuguese international wants to continue his career in the Premier League but his time at Chelsea has not gone as well as expected.
Griezmann has played 341 appearances for Atletico, scoring 157 goals and assisting 69 times. The French striker is the third highest goalscorer in the club's history.
