It already looks set to be one of the biggest transfer sagas of the summer as speculation mounts over the Atletico Madrid striker's potential departure to the Camp Nou and things could intensify further following these claims by Carreras.
Erika Choperena, Griezmann's wife, reportedly visited the Ciudad Condal the week before Atleti's crunch match away to Barcelona. Alongside a realtor, she viewed several houses in different areas of the city, but didn't end up purchasing one - not in Castelldefels where Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez live, nor in Person Avenue, where Neymar was based.
In addition, according to the aforementioned source, negotiations between 'Los Cules' and the Frenchman are at an advanced stage, supported by the fact the couple are looking at places to live, as both parties want to get some sort of agreement in place before the World Cup starts on June 14.
With Griezmann's release clause set at €100 million, a low figure in today's market, Barcelona will have no trouble meeting the figure as they look to shore up their squad going into next season.
However, his arrival could start an exodus of players leaving the Camp Nou, with five reportedly being cast aside by Ernesto Valverde as they try to make room for their reported new signing.
