Griezmann helps Atletico close in on Madrid

Injuries put a downer on the result for Atletico

Gabi came on his place which didn't seem to disrupt Atletico's flow as they continued to create chances. Griezmann and Gaitan both had good opportunities but the scores stayed level.
Atletico then suffered another injury when Gimenez had to leave the field when he pulled up with an adductor injury and was replaced by Lucas Hernandez.
On the verge of half-time, however, Atletico received a stroke of luck when Deportivo's Fajr was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Atletico siege
Atletico were on top in the second half and had a number of chances, but initially failed to find the back of the net.
Simeone's side did eventually take the lead in the 70th minute when Griezmann converted from Gameiro's pass.
Despite Atletico's domninance, Deportivo almost nicked a point when Borges had a chance to score late on, but failed to hit the back of the net.
