Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann finally reacquainted himself with the back of the net on Wednesday and he did so in style, scoring a spectacular scissor kick in the club's 2-0 Champions League win over Roma.
The Frenchman finally found the net after a frustrating barren run of form that Atletico boss Diego Simeone admitted on Tuesday had been affecting his whole side.
As per usual with Griezmann, not only did he silecnce the doubters, but he did so in style. He took advantage of an inch-perfect cross from the left to launch a stunning scissor kick past a despairing Allison.
Despite his barren spell, the Atletico faithful gave their talisman a rousing reception when his name was announced pre-match and the 26-year-old repaid them in style.
The goal put an end to a run of eight games without scoring for the striker, who last found the net against Chelsea way back on September 27. That run was the longest Griezmann has gone in an Atletico shirt without scoring and the fans will be hoping it stays that way for some time to come.
