Deschamps' men were too good for Portugal and Joao Felix's good run of results came to an end. The Atletico Madrid star lost to a team which included former Atletico player Antoine Griezmann.
Joao Felix started on the left hand flank, but he did not have his day. He played 85 minutes and Fernando Santos' side were not comfortable on the field of play. Not even Cristiano Ronaldo was able to show what he was capable of.
The only goal of the night confirmed who would finish top of the group: France. Antoine Griezmann played the full game and he seemed to enjoy playing for his country.
Joao Felix and Antoine Griezmann will face each other again on Saturday at the Wanda Metropolitano. At 21:00 CET on that day, Atletico Madrid host Barcelona in La Liga.
