It is no coincidence Dani Parejo is the Valencia captain. The Valencia midfielder prevented Iago Aspas scoring from a free-kick by running back from the wall to head off his goalline. Jaume Domenech was the one who came up with the idea.

In the 52nd minute of the La Liga clash between Valencia and Celta, Iago Aspas was preparing to take a free-kick from the edge of the box. The Valencia wall was in the right postion and Dani Parejo was part of it.

Aspas hit a powerful left footed free-kick sending the ball directly towards the left hand side of Jaume Domenech's goal, the side the wall was covering.

But then the Valencia captain ran back at speed to get back on his own line and head away what would have been a certain goal.

The fans celebrated it as if they had scored a goal praising the clever play by the Valencia captain. That said, the idea came from the goalkeeper just before Aspas took the free-kick. In the end, Valencia claimed the three points courtesy of a goal by Carlos Soler.
