Newcastle's goalscorer against Liverpool, Anthony Gordon, urged his side to bounce back after consecutive defeats to Manchester City and Liverpool.

There is no doubt that 10-man Liverpool's late comeback against Newcastle has made headlines this week. Klopp's side, despite playing a man down for most of the game, managed to come from behind against the Magpies at St James' Park in the closing stages.

It came as a blow to Eddie Howe's side, who were coming off the back of a narrow defeat to Manchester City on Matchday 2 of the 2023/2024 Premier League.

Anthony Gordon, who put Newcastle ahead against the Reds with an early goal, gave his thoughts after the game, urging his side to bounce back after the defeat. "I expect the massive reaction, especially just from this game because obviously ultimately we're very disappointed.

"We feel like we should have won we've got a lot to do because we need to start killing games off. We're playing really well, the performances are being good, but it's just about going to that next level now and putting teams away. It is going to hurt us for a while, obviously, but we've got to move on," concluded the midfielder.
