According to information coming from 'ProFootballBD', these are the three players in Europe's big leagues who have seen the biggest fall in value over the last three years. They are a host of other big names in European football who make the top ten as well.

Thanks to this exhaustive database, you can find a huge amount of metrics with which to measure and compare players, one of which is their current market value. And on the podium for the biggest fall, all three players ply their trade in Spain.

It is the Atletico defender who stands out the most.  In 2015 his value was said to be a staggering 52 million euros, in a pre-Neymar market, a number which has now dropped to 35.

It uses a range of very logical criteria to come out with these values, and team awards do play a part, Godin's age, now 32, also works against him as he will surely have less time at the top level than most. Coupled with two demoralising Champions League final losses and a group stage exit this season, it's understandable why his price has gone down.

Bale's main problem has been his injury issues. His lack of continuity has damaged his rating, despite being at Real Madrid during a golden era for the club.

The Welshman's value has falled to around 37million from 51 three years previously, and it seems likely that Florentino Perez will want to cut his losses

Luis Suarez, another Uruguayan, represents a different type of fall: after seasons of scoring goals at an incredible rate, this campaign he has slowed and his stats are a little more human. As a result his value has falled from 75million to a paltry 61.

Lionel Messi doesn't fare well on this list either, sitting fourth in the standings. His value is still an impressive 103 million, but three years ago he was at 117.

Rather than talking about a dropoff for the Argentine though, it just illustrates how difficult it is to maintain his high levels.

It also a given that the players who are high up on this list are those who have had the biggest chance in performance - the higher you climb the further you have to fall.

Pogba (-13), Muller (-11) and Lewandowski (-10) have all been affected by a drop in value. It remains obvious that monitoring the way these prices fluctuate, especially in a heavily inflated European market, is a very good parameter for comparing individual player performances against each other. But for some it makes tough viewing.

Nani is the only player in the top 15, who's current value is less than that amount his value has fallen - 9.9million value compared with a drop of 10 million - meaning he has lost over 50%. His fall in grace since leaving Manchester United has continued at Lazio.
