Olivier Giroud's late goal for Arsenal against Southampton was significant for more than just rescuing the Gunners a point, with the Frenchman also equalling a Premier League record.

The striker struck in the 88th minute at St Mary's to score his 17th goal from the bench for Arsenal, a feat that drew him level with Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the player to have scored the most goals off the bench for a single Premier League club.

Giroud is quickly acquiring a reputation as a super-sub and comparisons with the 'baby-faced assassin' are high praise, with many considering the Norwegian to be one of the best impact players in Premier League history.

The France international leads the likes of Javier Hernandez and Jermain Defoe who managed 14 and 13 for Manchester United and Tottenham respectively.

Nevertheless, Defoe leads the list of most Premier League goals as a substitute, having scored 23 for four different clubs.
