Giroud on Atlético's radar
The French striker is not getting much playing time at Lampard's Chelsea and Inter are pushing for the player to join them, but the Italian side has run into a strong rival: Atletico Madrid.
Atlético is in dire need of a goalscorer at the moment. Despite their great investment in the attack, the Madrid team are not winning games, and have come under scrutiny for their missing goals.
President Enrique Cerezo has already stated that Atletico will not sign any strikers because they have to make room first, but anything can happen. According to the portal 'TMW', Giroud is among the possible candidates.
The 33-year-old striker has only played a few minutes to play this season, having only played seven games and scored one goal. He has lost his prominence because of Chelsea's focus on the youth and there is no clear chance for his to earn a spot in the team despite having signing a contract extension just this summer.
Its starting price for the winter market would be about five and a half million euros, a fairly low amount for what is being paid in the market and the one that is going to make clubs like Atletico and Inter face each other.
