Gelson Martins could be banned for eight months!
'RMC Sport' reports that Gelson Martins of Monaco could be given an eight month suspension for pushing the referee in the match against Nimes.
Gelson Martins was unfortunately in the headlines for the wrong reasons last weekend in Ligue 1.
The Portuguese player, who was at Atletico Madrid, saw red in Monaco's game to Nimes after pushing the referee. Once he was sent off, he pushed the official once again.
The incident will lead to him being severely punished by the club who have already announced they will not tolerate this type of behaviour. Ligue 1's disciplinary committee will also come down hard on the player.
According to 'RMC Sport' journalist Loic Briley, the Portuguese could get an eight month suspension.
The decision will be made this Thursday, but if this information is accurate, Martins will miss the rest of the season.
