Youngster Gedson Fernandes, who debuted with the Portuguese national team at 19-years-old, could be loaned from Benfica to Mourinho's Tottenham, if the deal between the two clubs is closed in the next few hours.

According to information from 'EFE' this Monday, Gedson will land in London on the 13th January to undergo a medical, once Benfica and Tottenham have reached an agreement, subject to such physcial tests.

According to different Portuguese media, Gedson will sign for the London club until 2021 and, according to 'Record', Tottenham will have the option to buy the 21-year-old midfielder if they are willing to pay 60 million euros.

Gedson Fernandes debuted with the Portuguese national team in September 2018, before, even playing for the Under 21 team.

Since he was little, his entire footballing career has been at Benfica, where he debuted with the first team in 2018, under Rui Vitoria.

With the current coach, Gedson has not had much game time, due to, above all, Bruno Lage's playing style, which is a 4-4-2 formation.

In this way, Gedson Fernandes will like Mourinho's 4-3-3 a lot, because he is a midfielder who enjoys playing in the number '8' position, in front of the holding midfielders.
