Gavi was one of Ronald Koeman's big bets against Cadiz. The young Barcelona player made his debut as a starter at only 17 years and 49 days, being very close to Ansu Fati's record of precocity in this respect.

Although Barcelona failed to get the three points against Cadiz to partially alleviate their crisis, it wasn't all bad news for the Barcelona side at the Nuevo Mirandilla.

The Cadiz stadium saw the debut of Gavi Paez, one of the great talents of the Catalan side, as a starter in the La Liga. Ronald Koeman trusted from the start in the Barcelona player and he gave a good impression on the pitch.

His start, as 'Sport' recalls, also made him enter the history of the azulgrana team, as he became the second youngest player in the history of the club to make his debut as a starter (17 years and 49 days), only behind another pearl like Ansu Fati (16 years and 318 days).

Gavi's success in his first steps as a Barca player will largely determine the present and future of a Barcelona team in which the youngsters (Nico, Demir, Gavi and Ansu Fati) must soon take on responsibilities to try to get the club out of a very complicated situation in all aspects.
