Fact can sometimes be stranger than fiction. A bizarre situation has emerged between Portugal and the Netherlands involving Gustaf Lagerbielke. The 25-year-old defender is currently on a list of 'missing persons' in the Dutch municipality of Enschede.
As reported by 'A Bola', the story dates back to last season when Lagerbielke was loaned from Celtic to Twente. To facilitate his stay in the Netherlands, he rented a house in Enschede and registered as a resident.
However, this summer, the defender completed a move to Sporting Braga... without informing the Dutch authorities that he was leaving the city.
Consequently, the Enschede City Council has published a list of missing persons, which includes Lagerbielke's name. Fortunately for him, he is not actually missing, but simply neglected to inform them of his departure.
"The municipality has carried out an exhaustive investigation into the whereabouts of these individuals. This investigation shows that we do not know their whereabouts. Therefore, the municipality is removing the records of these people," the City Council stated.
