From Andrea to Andres

Juventus are looking into the possibility of bringing Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta to Italy. The Italian champions have been linked with the player for some time and it is now thought that they are prepared to act upon their interest, given the 33-year-old's uncertain future with Barca and his current contract situation.

The wheels are already thought to be in motion over a move, with Juve trying to convince the player that his future lies in Italy.

Italian publication 'Tuttosport' reports that Max Allegri's side have turned to the all-conquering Spaniard as they miss the magic formerly provided by Andrea Pirlo, with Iniesta thought to be the ideal replacement for the classy Italian.

It is well known that all is not quite right with regards to Iniesta and Barcelona right now. The players feels that the club have never given him the credit he deserved over the years, always prefering Xavi and whilst he has seen numerous team-mates be rewarded with lengthy new contracts, he has not been.

Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu claimed earlier this week that the club had agreed a deal in principle with Iniesta, only for the player to deny it just two days later.

Whilst Iniesta would prefer to stay with the Catalans, he does not want to see his loyalty taken advantage of.

Juventus meanwhile are waiting in the wings, hoping that the relationship between Iniesta and the Barca board is beyond all repair, with the Italian able to open talks with the 'Old Lady' over a bosman move next summer in less than four months' time.

From Andrea Pirlo to Andres Iniesta, Juve certainly have an eye for a classy midfielder.
