It was a well known decision, but it was not until this week that it was made official. Fritz Keller is the new president and head of the German Football Federation.

He has been the president of Freiburg since 2010, Fritz Keller now replaces Reinhard Grindel, who resigned from the position in April due to pressure on income in the German Federation.

Keller was chosen unanimously in the electoral congress, who were chosen to designate the new head of German football. At 62-years-old, the former president of Freiburg faces a new challenge.

"He is the best person to have as president of the DFB", assured Rummenigge, one of the most authorised voices in German football. "It will be a pleasure to help him in what we do", added Hoeness.

Jachim Low also had some good words to say about him: "For many years, Fritz has been an advocate for professionalism, pragmatism and excellent leadership. I can sense his passion for the job and he will put his heart and soul into it. He has big ambitions and a lot of energy."
