Fornals misses Barca trip due to 'chickens' comment
Pablo Fornals will face a minimum two match ban for calling referee Jesus Gil Manzano and his team "chickens". The midfielder will not be able to play against Barcelona at Estadio La Ceramica.
"Pablo Fornals Malla, once the game has finished and while we were in the tunnel, said the following to the assistant referee number 2: 'You are chickens, you are chickens'," read the referee's match report in the Celta Vigo-Vilarreal game.
Spanish rules are clear in this sense and he will be unable to play in the home match against Barcelona. "Taking to officials, board members or sporting authorities in disrespectful terms will be punished with a 2 or 3 match ban or for even up to a month. This is providing the offence is not considered a serious offence."
The Competition Committee will meet this Tuesday to decide on Pablo Fornals, who is in all likelihood out for the game against Barcelona at Estadio La Ceramica.
