The Danish footballer has called time on his career after being blighted with various injuries

Daniel Agger, who will be most remembered for his spell at Liverpool, has hung up his boots at the age of 31.

The centre-back, spent eight years at Liverpool before rejoining boyhood club Brondby in 2014. He also earnt 75 caps for Denmark, and his last national team appearance was only a few months ago in a 1-0 friendly loss to Scotland in March.

Although he suffered withe reccuring calf, knee and back problems, Agger's decision has come as a surprise to many.
