According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Fiorentina are poised to keep Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea at the club for another year after deciding to trigger the extension clause in his contract.

The Spanish goalkeeper, who signed a one-year deal with the Viola last summer, has impressed with a string of consistent performances in Serie A, prompting the club to secure his services until June 2026.

De Gea, 34, arrived in Florence in August 2024 following a lengthy spell as a free agent after leaving Manchester United in July 2023.
