Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes spoke to 'MUTV' after scoring the opener against Arsenal in Saturday's friendly. The Portuguese playmaker admitted it was a tough game, as it always is against the Gunners.

Manchester United beat Arsenal 2-0 in a friendly at MetLife Stadium in the United States. The Red Devils took the lead on the half hour mark, with Fernandes cutting in from the right and unleashing a low left-foot drive which deceived Ramsdale.

Seven minutes later, Sancho doubled their lead when Arsenal defender Gabriel mis-kicked on the half-way line and the England forward burst away before blasting confidently home.

Bruno Fernandes, who scored the opener, was named as the new skipper for Erik ten Hag's side on Thursday after stripping Harry Maguire of the captaincy. The Portuguese playmaker spoke to his current club's press after the game to talk about his feelings.

The 28-year-old admitted it was not easy playing against the Gunners: "It was a good game, I think everyone enjoyed it. It's always tough to play against Arsenal, it's a good game, a good fight. We had a great spirit, won the game, that’s the most important," he began.

"We are getting minutes in our legs to get in the best shape as possible for the beginning of the season. It's always great to score. It's always important for your confidence," he added.
