Turkish side Fenerbahce have said that they will not sell striker Robin van Persie, despite rumours linking him with a move back to the Premier League.

The former Arsenal and Manchester United striker was said to be on Stoke City, Middlesbrough and West Ham's radar, but a move back to England now looks unlikely for the Dutchman.

"In recent days, there have been so many rumours in the media about Robin van Persie leaving Fenerbahce," the club's statement read.

"These speculations are not true.  After a meeting with the player's agent, Van Persie's transfer to any other club is out of the question".

Therefore, it seems as though Robin van Persie will stay at last season's Super Lig runners-up.
