Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fallaini says he wants to repay the faith shown in him by manager Jose Mourinho after his match-winning strike late on against Young Boys on Tuesday night.

The Belgian struck in stoppage time at Old Trafford to secure the three points needed to guarantee his side a place in the Champions League knockout stages.

Speaking following the game, the physical midfielder was quick to hail his manager, saying that the Portuguese places a lot of trust in him.

"I feel comfortable. I'm happy with him. He gives me a lot of confidence and he trusts me. That's important for a player. I try to pay him back on the pitch," he explained.

"I always try to give everything for the team. Whether I start or not, everybody knows I'm a team player. The most important thing is to take the points and win the games."

This current season is Fellaini's sixth at Old Trafford after being brought in by David Moyes, but whilst much of his Manchester United career has been spent on the bench, Fellaini insists he has never had a problem with any manager.

"I've never had a problem with a manager," he revealed. "When a manager comes, I give everything for him."
