Marouane Fellaini will not be staying at Manchester United beyond the end of this season, with reports suggesting that he has signed a deal with Turkish club Besiktas.
According to Turkish outlet 'Foto Mac', Manchester United have lost out on Marouane Fellaini, despite Jose Mourinho wanting to keep him at the club. The Belgian has not had the playing time he wants this season, but it us understood Manchester United made a concerted effort to convince Fellaini to stay.
With talks moving slowly, Fellaini has instead signed a pre-contract deal with Besiktas. Mourinho is reportedly upset by the development as he values Fellaini as a useful option coming off the bench.
With Michael Carrick retiring at the end of the year, the Portuguese manager was also keen on avoiding having to replace two experienced players in his midfield. Fellaini signed for United under David Moyes in 2013 for €30million.
