Felipe Monteiro, the Brazilian central defender, who missed Atletico's first game back against Athletic Bilbao, will also be unavailable for the Osasuna because a muscle strain in his left thigh, the club confirmed.

Felipe, who had trained away from the rest of his teammates in the last few days, underwent tests at the Clinica Universidad de Navarra.

Although the tests showed that the player "is progressing favourably" compared to the medical exams from last week, the medical report published by the club indicates that the left quadriceps of Felipe "needs lots of caution". He will therefore continue to train individual.

Felipe had started the last 27 games prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and he has become one of the standout players in the defensive play for Atletico.

Last Saturday, the Atletico coach, Diego Pablo Simeone, explained that Felipe is a player who, due to his physical characteristics, "needs more time to prepare to be at his best.

"He's a very strong, tall and big player. And we need to have the best possible Felipe," Simeone said. He will not be able to count on the Brazilian central defender for Atletico's second game.
