Fascism and the far-right have no place at Werder Bremen

The east stand of the Weserstadion, the home ground of Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, was filled with banners denouncing fascism and the extreme-right as Bremen took on Nürnberg on Sunday. Fans also offered their support to refugees in Germany.

Bremen, a mostly-social-democratic area of Germany, showed its repulsion to fascism and the far-right as Werder Bremen played Nürnberg in the Bundesliga, with the game finishing as a 1-1 draw.

In one of the stands, particularly on the east side of the ground, a multitude of banners were deployed in which support was also offered to refugees.
