Cesc Fabregas will not be taking the summer off as he was expecting, after being drafted in by the 'BBC' to be one of their pundits in Russia during the World Cup.
The Catalan was one of the players left behind by Julen Lopetegui for the tournament, but he will now be in the studio on Friday night as Spain take on Portugal.
The 'BBC' announced on Monday that he will join their team, which already features a host of former players and famous names in the game, in time for Spain's opener.
11 June 2018He will be alongside Gary Lineker, who regularly fronts the 'BBC' coverage of major tournaments, Alan Shearer, Didier Drogba, Pablo Zabaleta, Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand and a host of others. Names who know perfectly well what it is like to play in these competitions.
Fabregas himself made his Spain debut in 2006, under Luis Aragones, and has had a glittering international career since then. It was the former Arsenal man who set up Andres Iniesta's winning goal in the 2010 World Cup final, and he has also won two European Championships.
